The weather may have not have been as friendly as the people attending, but that didn't stop Middle Lake from getting plenty of people out for their annual Poker Rally.

The Poker Rally was held in Middle Lake on February 9th on behalf of the Middle Lake Lions Club with the funds going to help the Lions Club and the Middle Lake Multiplex.

"It's one of our major fundraisers, most of the proceeds to go towards paying down our multiplex we built here. We want to thank all the community members that helped out, its a great community event that's for sure," said Ken Herman with the Middle Lake Lions Club.

Although the weather was a little chilly, the snowfall made for a decent track for the snowmobilers.

"The trail was good, we had lots of snow here. We made the track the day before and the boys said it was really good. The weather wasn't cooperating with us, but other than that it was a great time. We shortened the track up a bit this year. It was around 35 miles and we had a warmup shack halfway through with a fire going,  so people could take advantage of that if they wanted."

Around 50 to 60 snowmobilers took in the event that was capped with a 3000 grand prize.
