A man who police advised the public not to approach has been arrested by the Melfort RCMP.

Preston Croswell, 36, has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a restricted weapon without authorization.

Croswell was arrested on Tuesday morning, without incident, near Kinistino.

On Saturday night, police say Croswell left his home in Weldon with a gun and appeared distraught. He departed on his ATV and was shirtless at the time.

Croswell will remain in custody until his next court appearance, scheduled for July 18 in Melfort.

Weldon is approximately 130 kilometres north of Humboldt.
