Rob Swan, a man on a mission to curl in 150 rinks in 150 days, made a stop in Humboldt on Sunday.

Swan, an avid curler that wraps up his Saskatchewan swing on Tuesday, is also an advocate for keeping small town Canadian Curling clubs alive.

He describes how his "Curling Across the Nation" began.

"This started out as a fundraiser for my hometown club. It has now since become more of a promotion of support of the sport. It's badly needed, some of these clubs have never been showcased ever, either by the Provincial Association or their individual Associations. That's where I hold them at fault, that I can go into clubs that have never seen anybody that would help them out."

Swan talks about the Humboldt Curling Club and how the curling was during his game.

"The Curling, the game was excellent. We had a great game, the ice was fantastic. You guys have a great facility here, you're lucky that you have a multi-facility complex here."

Swan also shared his main message that he brought with him on his tour.

"I always say that Grassroots Curling is the thread that holds the fabric together of this sport. You lose the thread, that whole thing starts to unravel. You lose facilities like this, and like the ones I've been at the last couple of days, smaller communities. You'll start to lose the players that will go to the Provincials, that will go to the Nationals, that will go to the Worlds, and that will go to the Olympics."

Swan will return to work for two weeks starting Tuesday, then resume his tour in Northern Alberta.
