Some messy conditions over the next two days could lead to the highways being less than optimal.

A low-pressure weather system originating in Alberta will bring snow, along with wind and the risk of freezing rain over the next two days to Humboldt and surrounding areas up until around Thursday, November 29th.

"We saw some freezing rain and some snow flurries that are now moving over the province. It's tonight when the low-pressure system is beginning to move through. Most of the heavier snow is to the north of the Humboldt region, but I still think you can pick up 2-5cm. Risk of freezing rain is more to the south, but it still exists for the Humboldt region. Looks like most of that weather will fall into the overnight and morning periods. It's just gonna be kind of a mess tomorrow with the new snow, wind, and risk of freezing rain. People driving should be aware of what's going on around them." said Meteorologist Terry Lang with Environment Canada

Drivers are advised to check the Highway Hotline when conditions meet circumstances like these, for both their origin and destination.

"People should always be checking Highway Hotline before they head out, as well as checking the forecast of their destination because conditions can be quite different from where you are to where your destination is."
