A Drake man is $1,000,000 richer after purchasing a Lotto 649 ticket from the Thrifty Market in Humboldt. James Isbister of Drake purchased the ticket and tucked it away. It wasn't until a month later that he returned to check the draw result. 

When the retailer scanned the ticket, it was clear the ticket was a winner. Isbister simply didn't realize immediately how much he had won.

The retailer noticed I wasn’t acting excited about it and told me to look at the amount again,” he continued. “That’s when I realized I won $1 million!”

Isbister is still a bit mystified about his lucky turn. “I don’t think the reality has really sunk in yet,” he said. “I’ve always played hoping that one day I’ll win, but I never believed it would actually happen.”

He is still formulating plans on what to do with the money.
