Eight highway projects in the Humboldt area are up for tender for the fall.

Projects to be tendered include Highway 20 paving north of Humboldt, on the way to Middle Lake. The stretch of road was levelled with gravel put in earlier this year.

“Even though we have multiple highway and infrastructure projects currently under construction this year, we find that tendering earlier will help us secure contractors and get an early jump for next year,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister David Marit said.  “This type of planning puts us in a strong position, so materials and contractors are ready to go when construction begins next spring.”

Other areas to be addressed are:

  • Highway 2 - Culvert replacement of McKay Culvert.
  • Highway 3 - Resurfacing at the Highway 6 junction, south of Melfort.
  • Highway 5 - Bridge replacement over Quill Creek, east of Quill Lake.
  • Highway 6 - Resurfacing north of Raymore for a 20 kilometre stretch.
  • Highway 6 - Paving north of Dafoe.
  • Highway 35 - Rut fill and seal, north of Wadena for 21 kilometres.
  • Highway 368 - Rut fill and seal north of Muenster for 14 kilometres.

The list of tenders is only an initial list of those that will be worked on during the 2018 construction season.
