With a thriving growing business in Watson, Colleen Haussecker was looking for a new, exciting way to market Splendor Garden Organic Spices, Herbs and Seasoning Blends.

About a month ago she learned of the opportunity to make a pitch to former Dragon, Brett Wilson.

Much like the hit CBC show Dragon's Den, business owners make proposals to the popular Saskatoon born entrepreneur in the Bridge City.

"On Monday we went and we pitched, it was exciting, it was lots of fun," Haussecker said in a phone interview. "There was a crowd of about 1,000 people there as well and then when the evening was over they chose the top three pitches and we were lucky enough to be the third pitch chosen."

Haussecker didn't specify what they would receive from Wilson but she did say it will help them grow their business that is already selling products in over 500 stores. Not bad for a lady who was just looking for some local healthy eating options.

"About six years ago I had been diagnosed with breast cancer," Haussecker explained. "At that time I was looking for a high quality line of spices and herbs that I could use to increase the nutrient content in the foods I was consuming. There wasn't really a full line out there and I thought wow, this is a really great opportunity to supply people with one."

There was nothing specific Haussecker pitched other than the whole spectrum of what she does in the Watson based business. She said she also got a chance to talk to the reportedly well mannered and grounded millionaire.

"I got to chat with him a bit yes, he is as he appears, very genuine and just an excellent all around person."
