Three local business managers are hoping Humboldt City Council will grant their request with the addition of a traffic light.

Council received the request that's signed by Humboldt Co-op General Manager Blair Molsberry, MNP Assurance Manager Kenda Thimm and MJ Wilkinson, the General Manager of the Canalta Hotel at Monday night's meeting.

In the letter they site safety of people entering and exiting Lakewood Drive on the west end of Glenn Hall Drive as their main concern.

They also want the 60 kilometre speed limit pushed further to the west, they say drivers are beginning to accelerate to 100 kilometres an hour before the speed zone change.

Council agreed to add the request to the agenda of their March 8th meeting of the Public Works Committee.

No one was on hand at the council meeting to speak on the proposal.
