Kathleen Grissom felt a warm welcome on Monday night, as over 100 people packed inside the Reid-Thompson Public Library in Humboldt.

Grissom was at the library to do a reading and also told her story of how she became an author listed on the New York Times Best Sellers.

Originally from Annaheim, she attributes her success to a caring and loving childhood.

Grissom now lives in Virginia with her husband and is currently working on a new book entitled Crow Mary, which has ties to the Cypress Hills area.
