After 70 years of service, the wheels will stop turning with Saskatchewan's Crown bus company.

Saskatchewan Transportation Company will see its final passengers arrive and depart multiple depots throughout the province, as service shuts down after Wednesday.

In March, it was announced in the provincial budget that STC would be axed to try and save money with a deficit of $1 billion.

A last-ditch effort fell through on May 26, as a court injunction to prevent the closure of STC was dismissed.

The last bus to arrive in Humboldt will be at 8:20pm while the final departure will be minutes later at 8:25pm.
