With a new community pool in their sights, the Lanigan Water Park Committee continued their fundraising efforts yesterday by holding a test drive event.

Included in the festivities were bubble balls for the kids.

Michelle Wolter is the Co-Chair for the Lanigan Water Park Committee.

She talks about the need for a new water park.

"Our current pool is passed it's prime I guess you could say, and we have a young community here and we are in need of updating some of our current, existing recreational facilities. The Water park is just a passion of mine and the other people on the committee to update it for our kids."

Ford Canada donated 20 dollars for every test drive taken by people in the community.

Wolter explains the cost of building a new pool.

"To get to the final stage is about $2 Million, so we are about a tenth of the way there, and we are just always seeking help in our fundraising efforts, through anybody in the community, corporate sponsors, different things."

Wolter talks about some of the upcoming fundraisers the committee will be holding.

"Just watch for our future events coming up. we have a paint night on the 28th of September, and we are hosting Cody Prevost here October 28th for an evening out so just watch for those."
