The Lanigan and district food bank serves about 35 families each month and they are always looking for more volunteers and non-perishable food items.

Jeanette Warrian, Co Chair, of the Lanigan food bank, talks about donations, "we're always open for any kind of non-perishable donations. Over summer we welcome garden produce and that kind of donation, people were very generous with that, they need to let us know we don't have a storage place, we have fridges, but the produce needs to be brought in the same week the hampers go out." Something the food bank is working on is getting the word out about how and when to bring these kinds of items in to donate.

The food bank is always looking for more volunteers as well, "new volunteers to come and help us, like work with the food bank, packing hampers, and that sort of thing. We are always looking for new volunteers to come and help." If you are not interested in helping with a hands-on approach a cash donation is always welcome, the money used goes towards bills, as well as purchasing perishable food items like eggs and milk.

If you are in need of the food bank it is in the back half of the Lanigan Advisor building.
