Over 450 dancers will converge in the town of Lanigan as  Lanigan Dance Dynamics holds their 24th annual dance competition this weekend.

Coordinator Cindy Riemer said it will be an exciting weekend.

"The dance clubs come from as far as about 200 kilometers away, we have 14 clubs competing this year, categories range from jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, and lyrical, we even have a Grease production this year performed by the Davidson Dance club so that will be neat to see."

Riemer said this is a big event for the club and the community, "we've had up to 700 entries, this year is definitely a little lower but it just depends on the time of year but we still run a great competition."

The competition gets underway Friday afternoon at 3pm, there will be a full day on Saturday, and will run into Sunday until around noon.

Spectators are welcome, the cost is $5 a session.
