The community of Lanigan is another step closer to a water park of its own.

The Lanigan Waterpark Fundraiser committee held their Chase the Ace fundraiser event on Thursday evening, the second one in as many weeks.

Taking place at the Lanigan Curling Rink, the event was well attended, with traffic numbers doubling from the previous week.

For just 10 dollars a plate, patrons were treated to homemade lasagna and a great community atmosphere.

The next supper Thursday, November 1st, starting at 5 pm. Ham and scalloped potatoes will be on the menu.

Chase the Ace is a community supper, while also holding a draw for a pot.

50 percent of the funds raised during the evening go toward the water park fundraiser, meanwhile, 20 percent goes towards the name drawn that night.

The other 30 percent gets put into the Chase the Ace draw.

The person whose name is called gets to draw from a deck of cards. If the ace is chosen, the winner receives their winnings as well as the ace pot.

If the ace is not chosen, the winnings get added into the next pot.

The committee will also be holding a Trip of The Month Raffle.

Tickets will be available starting next week, draws will start in January.

Michelle Wolter, part of the fundraising committee, says that events like these are very important to starting the project at a reasonable date.

"We are really hoping to have good turnout's for all of our events because we want to get started on our waterpark as soon as possible."

They hope to physically start preparing for the water park next fall.

Wolter and the committee would also like to give a huge thank you to the Lanigan Curling Rink for hosting their fundraisers.
