The Reid-Thompson Public Library was host to a Canadian great Tuesday night.

Ken Mitchell, English professor, playwright, screenwriter, actor, short story writer, novelist, and poet made a stop in Humboldt to share his work and talk about some of his poems.

Mitchell grew up on a cattle ranch near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and is familiar with the prairie culture and gravitates towards rebel-hero male conquerors.

The event was well attended there were 15 people in the crowd.

Micheal Langhorst, the librarian, with Reid-Thompson noted, "The crowd was very enthusiastic and clapped a lot, it was a great evening."
