Construction on the first phase of the Kelvington Integrated Healthcare facility is now complete.

The hospital opened on June 1st.

The Government of Saskatchewan also announced the opening of the facility's south wing allowing residents to move back into the care centre.

"Improving the quality of health care services, as well as health care infrastructure, is a priority for our government," Rural and Remote Health Minister Greg Ottenbreit stated in news release Friday. "The new Kelvington and area hospital is providing high quality acute and primary care services in a new, modern environment."

Once the entire building is finished they will have all their acute and primary services all under one roof.

Once finished the integrated facility will have 45 long-term care beds, seven acute care beds, seven multi-purpose clinic rooms plus a family room.

The next phase of the project, renovations to the east wing and the kitchen of Kelvindell Lodge, is currently underway and on track to be completed this fall. The final phase of renovations, which includes the southeast wing of the long-term care facility, is expected to be complete by spring 2017.
