A new grant is available through SGI to help ensure babies and small children are safe when in vehicles.

The new grant is open for non-profit groups as well as law enforcement organizations to purchase car seats.

The grant would give up to a maximum of $2,500.00 per year, per organization to help ensure the safety of the children.

The grant can be applied for now, up until May 30th, 2018, and those selected to receive the grant money will be notified by the end of June.

Additionally, the grant will run four times a year with money being distributed in September, December, and March.

To apply for the grant visit SGI's website here.

Under the law, children must be properly restrained, facing the correct way, and in the proper car seat/booster seat up until the age of seven.

One in four children who are injured or killed in collisions in Saskatchewan were found to be in an incorrect car seat or incorrectly installed car seat, or not using one at all.
