For the past two decades the Humboldt chapter of Junior Chamber International has sold Christmas trees to raise money for their various projects and this year is no different.

The JCI's are set up in the Humboldt Mall parking lot this year with all proceeds going towards the revamping of the exhibition grounds.

Immediate Past President Amanda Klitch explains why they started the fundraiser about 20 years ago.

"There was a need for it at the time and it's something that does well for JCI and it's a great support for the community. It brings a lot of Christmas spirit during the time, we have a lot of fun doing it and the community really supports us."

Klitch tells us what they have to offer.

"We have a price range of trees that start at $50 and the highest one is $100. We have some white spruce, our balsam firs probably sell the best and so they range anywhere from 6' to 10'."

They are open 1-9pm on Mondays, 5-9 o'clock Tuesday to Friday and 10-6pm on the weekends.

"There's a lot of people that come every year to support us which we genuinely appreciate," Klitch added. "There is people that come the first and continuously buy and so it's nice to see everyone's faces."

The lot will be open until all of their trees are sold or until about the 23rd of December.
