A love for the theatre has lead LeRoy's Jacqueline Block to her second nomination for a Saskatoon and Area Theatre Award.

Block was nominated two years ago for Achievement in performance and for Outstanding Emerging Artist.

The 25 year-old filled us in on what she is currently working on, "I just started working on Mary Poppin's, I'm going to Kamloops in November for that one and just started to take my dance class  and voice lessons and everything just to get primed for it."

This time around Block is up for Outstanding Emerging Artist as well as for outstanding ensemble for her role in Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Block explained how her acting career all began, "I had toaken my first year acting course at St. Peter's College in Muenster with Angus Ferguson and really enjoyed that but it wasn't actually until my third year when I audtioned for the third year acting program at the U of S, that I really fell in love with it, I started doing the University shows and yeah I guess that would be it."

She has performed in The Three Sisters which was her first production. Since graduating in 2014, she has taken part in All through the Night, Henry IV, and Into the Woods.

Being up for this award for the second time is very humbling said Block, "I just feel really, very lucky to be recognized within the community, there's a lot fantastic that I get to work and I'm just very, very lucky."

The award will be presented at the end of September in Saskatoon.
