As a kid, Lindsay Irwin quickly gained insight into customer service and making the shopping experience easy for the consumer.

That has helped elevate what Office Experts Office Pro has become in Humboldt.

Irwin and his store were awarded for their service at Wednesday's Mark of Excellence gala hosted by the Humboldt & District Chamber of Commerce.

"It's a real privilege and honour. I'm happy to be awarded for service. We live in a great business community with lots of great customer service," he said on the award win.

Irwin shared the story in his speech of seeing the service his dad received when he was growing up

"To be able to give that personal service that I remember my dad receiving at the lumber yard. We try to emulate that through our business as much as we can," he said.

"It's a joy to be able to do that. It's the best reward in business, I find, to be able to provide a service you know is appreciated."

Irwin added his thanks to his staff for ensuring that the business has the same reputable service that their customers have come to know.
