Safe Communities is there to ensure a safe place to live, learn, work and play, and infant/child safety os on the to-do list.

On Wednesday, October 17th Safe communities Humboldt along with the Humboldt RCMP, Lanigan RCMP, Ambulance service and local car seat technicians will be conducting a traffic stop to ensure infant car restraints are being used properly and safely.

The check stop is being held on 8th Ave, between 16th and 17th street. Anyone with an infant or child will be stopped for an inspection. No need to worry about disciplinary action, as the check stop is strictly informational and is there to benefit parents or guardians of young children. In fact, kids will even get to leave with a bag full of activities and goodies.

Inspections are conducted by a local car seat technician.

According to SGI, almost half of children injured or killed in collisions in Saskatchewan are not properly restrained in the vehicle. Safe communities Humboldt and Area would like to make sure that proper car safety is being utilized.
