A rising demand in school supplies has Partners Family Services taking to Streetfest.

Hoping for one big final push to their annual campaign, Partners will be accepting donations from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Friday and 10:30am to 3:00pm on Saturday.

They, along with the Humboldt Regional Newcomers Centre will be set-up at a big yellow school bus in the RE/MAX parking lot at the corner of Main Street and 7th Avenue.

"We have hosted the school supply drive for four years consecutively and have always been fairly successful with meeting the demand of those in need," said Family Support Coordinator Crystal Perkins.

This year, however, Partners has had more families coming to them in need of school supplies, and that means donations are slightly down.

"The demand is high for families needing assistance, but the donations have been less," noted Perkins.

With kids heading back to classes on September 1, it is 'crunch time' for Partners to meet their client needs.

Accepted donations include: pencils, pencil cases, erasers, scissors, blue and black pens, binders, loose leaf, markers, crayons, rulers, calculators, geometry sets, thesaurus, dictionary, lunch kits, backpacks, pencil sharpeners, white glue, glue sticks, notebooks and duo tangs.
