Ice fishing season is winding down for another year.

Those with shacks are reminded they must be removed before the season is done.

Conservation Officer, Kevin Harrison, explains all shacks need to be removed from bodies of water before the end of March.

"All fishing shelters south of Highway 16 must be removed by March 15th, any shelters north of Highway 16 must be removed by March 31st."

Harrison adds that's it's still crucial proper safety precautions are taken while you are out either dropping one last line or taking your shack off.

"Make sure it's safe for everyone, you want to avoid slushy ice by appearance, ice that's thawed once and then froze again or ice near moving water."

"Just be safe out there," he concluded.
