The province has set the date for when people need to remove their ice shacks from lakes across Saskatchewan.

On March 15, shacks located south of Highway 16 must be removed, and those north of Highway 16 will have until the end of the month.

Ice fishing shacks are abandoned every year on lakes across the province, and that poses a threat to people using the lakes in the summer.

For those who don't remove their shacks, the owners could be prosecuted and their shacks could be seized, the province says.
