For the 40 or so people that braved the chillier early spring wind Tuesday night, they likely got what they expected during the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce's election question and answer forum.

Four different parties were represented during the candidate's session, Incumbent Sask Party candidate Donna Harpauer, New Democrat Party hopeful Adam Duke, Liberal newcomer Robert Tutka all attended on their own behalf. Ron Schriml represented Green Party candidate Lori Ellen Harper who couldn't attend due to family commitments.

During the event the candidates were presented with preempted questions, some related to business, others infrastructure as well as the number one issue in the constituency. Answers varied from Duke's worry for lack of jobs, Harpauer spoke of highway five concerns and the high water levels at Manitou Beach and she mentioned doctor retention in Lanigan. Tutka, a former truck driver stressed highways. Agriculture was tops among the Greens.

Jabs were light and really not often, however Harpauer did fire an arrow at NDP Leader Cam Broten's spending promises during closing statements.

The Humboldt born Duke stuck close to home with his final pitch.

This was the first appearance in front of a crowd for Tutka and after having some weather troubles on his commute he settled his nerves during the closing address.

Meanwhile, retracted to an NDP legend, simply noting change is needed during the closing statements.

You can hear the candidates complete closing arguments below beginning with Duke, Harpauer follows. Tutka then precedes Schriml to conclude the clip.

We will have much more audio from the forum as well as election coverage beginning Monday on 107.5 Bolt FM and our website leading up to extensive local coverage on April 4th.
