Throughout the rest of the summer, the Humboldt and District Museum is giving you a glimpse into Humboldt's downtown history.

They are offering walking tours, which visit old buildings, statues and paintings.

"The museum used to offer walking tours and unfortunately they got sidelined. We brought them back and we have a new tour that takes in a lot of the historic buildings downtown as well as the historic murals - both the Urban Lukan ones and the painted ones," Coordinator Jean Price said.

One of the new fixtures in the city that represents both old and new, is the Canada 150 mural, which will be part of the tour as well.

"Some of the statues and other pieces of public art as well, including the new Humboldt mural," Price noted. "It gives everybody a bit of an idea about what our downtown is all about."

The tours, held every Friday, allow you to do some walking and also widen your knowledge on Humboldt's history.

"It may not be as well known in our community about how historic our downtown is and how many of the buildings pre-date 1920, which is pretty cool."

Each tour lasts approximately an hour, beginning at the museum at 1:30pm. They will conclude at the end of August.
