Performers and presenters take centre stage starting Saturday night for Telemiracle 40.

For the 40th time, performers and presenters will take centre stage along with many others who have amazing stories to tell, as Telemiracle begins Saturday night in Regina.

Since the first telethon in 1977, over $111-million has been raised in support of health and special needs in the province.

To mark the 40th anniversary of the event, Telemiracle will be extended by one hour, beginning at 8:00pm instead of the traditional 9:00pm start time. The event, which alternates between the Queen City and Saskatoon each year will be held at Conexus Arts Centre.

Among the performers from the Humboldt area includes the Prairie Pearls, who will take the stage at 12:20 Sunday morning. Humboldt's Ray Whitton is one of the overnight performers, which will keep viewers entertained through the early morning hours from 2:30 to 5:30.

Whitton is expected on stage around 3:40.

The Humboldt Kinettes will make their presentation between 8:00am and 9:00am Sunday. During that same period, young Lacey Holowaty will return to the Telemiracle stage to perform and also share funds raised by her and St. Dominic School.

The Watson Dance Club will also take to the stage during the 21 hour telethon.

Telemiracle 40 can be seen on CTV, with an option for streaming online through their website.
