The healing power of music will fill churches, halls, and schools around Humboldt for the remainder of the month as the city moves into the 81st annual Humboldt and District Music Festival.

The competitions being this week with piano featured at the Westminister United Church.  That's followed by band, strings, and guitars April 23 and 24th, and vocal, choral, and speech arts April 25th and 26th.  The festival concludes with the Showcase April 30th at Westminister United.

This festival is part of the Saskatchewan Music Festival Association competitions.  Karen Unger is the association president and she said in a release, "We believe that music and speech arts enhance our lives and enrich our world.  Performers, teachers, conductors, volunteers, audience members, and adjudicators each have a vital role to play in promoting music in our communities and throughout the province".
