The Original Humboldt site committee is hoping to create a map of the site with new stories and artifacts found.

On Thursday, January 24th, around 25 members of the community gathered at the Humboldt Museum for coffee, treats, and a group talk about things pertaining to the Original Humboldt site.

Jennifer Fitzpatrick, Director of Cultural Services for the City of Humboldt, on the reasoning behind the group session, as well as what the committee is hoping to have come from it.

"The history of our site is not confined by the current roads that surround it, as they did not exist back then. We are trying to include a broader aspect to the site in the upcoming year and hope to accomplish this by mapping the area and any findings made by community members."

Fitzpatrick talked about the importance of the Original Humboldt site to our town's heritage.

"The site, as well as the museum, are based on stories shared to us through community members over many generations. We hope to capture these stories, in order to preserve Humboldt's heritage for future generations."

The Original Humboldt Site has been in operation since 2009 and offers an interactive glimpse into Humboldt's history.
