A pair of new exhibits to the Humboldt and District Gallery will officially be introduced to the public on Thursday.

Launched on January 5, AgriCulture and Vital/Vitality are the two new phenomenons according to Jean Price.

"The show is curated by Katherine Boyer from the permanent collection of art at the First Nations University of Canada. All of the pieces relate back somehow to First Nations people and their agricultural practices," she noted on AgriCulture.

Price continued, touching on the Vital/Vitality exhibit by artist Romie Froese.

"Her show explores the physical aspect - the physiology of athletes - they're large scale paintings, and they're really very striking."

Froese's exhibit is featured in the gallery's local perspective archive, which highlights artists new to the industry and/or from the area.

Both Boyer and Froese will be at the gallery Thursday night beginning at 7:30, as they discuss the new displays in Humboldt.

The reception is free to attend with refreshments provided.

AgriCulture runs until February 20, while Vital/Vitality is on display at the gallery until March 25. Exhibits are free to view. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 1-5pm.
