The Humboldt Food Bank, as well as food banks across Canada, were the beneficiaries of a successful holiday food drive. While Loblaws outlets Canada-wide raised over $2 million dollars and thousands of pounds of food items, Humboldt Food Bank was among the recipients.

The No-Frills outlet, as part of the Loblaws chain, played a key role in the effort by raising funds from donations by customers. Humboldt No Frills manager Terry Lehoux praised the generosity of residents. Lehoux confirmed, "year after year our customers and colleagues donate food items or add a few dollars to their grocery bill to ensure that people in their own communities have enough to eat. We want to thank Saskatchewanians for their generosity during the record-breaking 2018 Holiday Food Drive -- they have really gone above and beyond this year."

The Humboldt Food Bank tallied the weight of donated food items as part of the drive. Shirley Reiter, Board member and Treasurer of the Food Bank, reported a donation of 651 pounds of food along with a cash donation of $647 provided by the No-Frills campaign. Reiter explained that the outlet was asked to track the weight of the food donated during the drive. She echoed the appreciation by stating, "all of this donated by local Humboldt individuals and we certainly appreciate the cash and the food that was donated." The cash would be used to replenish perishable stock of milk and produce.
