The Humboldt & District Gallery isn't the only historical and cultural sight to get a new exhibit.

Humboldt & District Museum & Gallery has set up an exhibit that tells the stories of Humboldt says, Jennifer Fitzpatrick, Director of cultural services of Humboldt.

"So there were 13 stories selected and they were primarily selected because the community felt they were some of our more interesting stories."

The exhibits tell a story of what Humboldt used to be like back in the day and how the city has changed over the years.

Each display tells it's own story to the observer.

"so we've got lightning boots where the gentleman was killed by lightning and the hole can be seen where the lighting came out the side of his boot."

Most museums in Saskatchewan like to show a history of the province in general.

Although, this museum has taken a more local approach.

"for example our pioneer kitchen, you can take that kitchen and put it in any community in the province and it's going to look very similar. Like our mandate is the city of Humboldt and the surrounding area, so we really want to focus on the Humboldt stories because that's what makes us different from other museums in Saskatchewan. So this exhibit is part of an entire redesign we're doing in the next 10 years that the exhibits around this building will be specifically Humboldt stories."
