People gathered at discovery ford not only to test drive a vehicle, but also help a great cause.

The test drive fundraiser held Saturday will go to build a safe, outdoor play area for the Humboldt Co-operative Daycare.

Hayley Kennedy from the daycare says this will benefit quite a few kids.

"There are currently just over 40 spots at the Co-op daycare, plus we also have the before and after school programs. So programs go for children from as young as 18 months all the way up to school age there."

Kennedy describes the Co-operative daycare experience for those who attend.

"I think the most important thing for people to understand is that the daycare offers the most family-like setting that you can offer for your children if you are in a program. They're exceptionally caring, they're very dedicated to their children, they're really dedicated to ensure there is on-going growth and development for the kids, and making sure they're always in a safe and comfortable nurturing environment."

Kennedy explains where the funds will go.

"Funds raised today through the test-drive fundraiser going to be used to support developing a natural, outdoor play space for the kids. The daqycare has two outdoor play spaces for the younger and older groups, and we're looking to make it more natural and interactive for the kids who use those spaces."

Also held at discovery ford was a child restraint clinic put on by Safe Communities Humboldt from 10 until 2
