A successful 2015 was the focus of the Humboldt Co-op's Annual General Meeting Wednesday night.

Lots of topics were discussed at the meeting, including the carwash closure and the impact the Alberta wildfires will have on fuel supply at Co-ops.

General Manager of the Humboldt Co-op Blair Molsberry says these meetings are essential.

"These are important because Co-ops are member owned. We want to get our members out to see what's going on each year, and this gives them an open forum to come ask questions and have their say in what the Co-op is going to do in the future and what happened in the past."

Molsberry explained what all was discussed at the meeting.

"We went over the delegates report, from the FCL Annual Meeting, which was held at the end of February and start of March. We had our President's report, and we had the General Manager report. I went over all the departments in the Co-op to see how they are doing. And then went through our Annual report with our controller this year."

After a bit of a slow start, the Humboldt Co-op food store seems to have made ground in overall sales.

Molsberry describes how well the store is doing.

"Humboldt Food Store sales were up 12.3% percent last year which is a very big jump in food. I was talking to a lot of other people, food is not moving at that rate so we're very happy with those numbers."

Lanigan food store celebrated another increase in food store revenue, while in the Drake location, sales are down.

This is the 79th annual general meeting held by the Humboldt Co-op, which opened in 1936.
