Humboldt Citizens for Better Playgrounds has reached their fundraising goal.

President Carmen Fraser says they are wrapping up their first project at Carl Schenn Park on Saturday.

"Our first project was Carl Schenn Park, to date we have now reached our goal of just under $150,000. This weekend we will be finishing the tot area, that's for 18 months to five years of age."

Fraser says they have reached their fundraising goal thanks to one final $10,000 contribution from BHP Billiton.

The installation of a toddler structure will go along with the brand new structure they installed last year.

Fraser says everyone is very happy with what they've accomplished.

"The feedback has been great, our goal was always to create a space that would be good for people of all ages and all ability levels. I really think we have successfully done that."

Fraser adds if anyone wants to help with their final piece of the puzzle on Saturday they are more than welcome.

"We should be out there around 9 o'clock and it should take all day probably to do the toddler area. If anybody who like to get involved they can always text me at 231-9991 and if they want to help a lending hand and give us a few hours of their time that would be greatly appreciated."

Humboldt Citizens for Better Playgrounds was formed by three mothers who wanted to help upgrade playgrounds in the city and they decided to start with the oldest one. They say there is a couple more projects that they might begin working on to replace although nothing is set in stone.
