With 2018 coming to an end, the Humboldt Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) is looking ahead to next year.

2019 for the BID will be a busy and productive year in Humboldt. Businesses downtown will be working in collaboration with the BID to see through all next year's goals.

One of the biggest projects in the early stages is a winter festival. Some of the activities would include both indoor and outdoor activities. There could be a sample of a winter festival in February of 2019 for downtown Humboldt.

"The BID has been something that council has been in favour of over the next couple of years. It sounds like they have some exciting projects coming down the pike and I like the winter festival idea," said Rob Muench, Humboldt's Mayor.

Other future projects include infrastructures such as flower pots, year-round lighting, and banners. Erin Standish, Coordinator of the BID, on other plans for next year.

"We are partnering with various city groups to discuss what might accompany what is existing already."

Plenty of events could be making some other changes such as Streetfest during the summer months.
