The City of Humboldt approved the idea of a Humboldt Broncos Memorial Committee responsible for erecting a memorial for those affected by the April 6th crash.

The decision was made at City Hall during the council meeting this past Monday with all councilors in favour. Council decided the committee will be made up of two city council members, two members of the Broncos organization, two members on behalf of the victims of the crash, and two members from Humboldt's public arts committee.

The committee is only in the early steps of being formed so far. After the members have been decided, discussion of a permanent memorial within the city limits will then be underway.

"We've tried to get a broad scope of people on this committee so when the decisions are made, they are made with the total input of the community," said Rob Muench, Humboldt's Mayor.

With holidays fast approaching, the committee is looking to be completed as soon as possible.
