The Humboldt Broncos hosted a dinner and silent auction in support of the Humboldt Soup Kitchen on Wednesday, Feb 20th at the community gathering place.

The team, once again, showed that they're not only hard working on the ice but that hard work pays off in establishing great community supporting individuals off of it.

"It was great, always fun to get out in the community and support a great cause of hard-working people. It was good for us to be there and the boys really enjoyed the dinner and the time spent interacting with people," said Head Coach Scott Barney.

The team sold tickets for the event which also featured a silent auction. In total, they were able to raise over $2,000 for the soup kitchen.

"It was a huge success, pretty much every chair was full. The money will go a long way, we're very thankful. We serve anywhere between 60 -90 people every Tuesday, so that will go a long way for the purchase of food and the basic running of the operation," said Jamie Erb with the Humboldt Soup Kitchen.

Once again, the Broncos showed that off-the-ice commitment goes just as far as on-ice within a community.
