750 tiles and many hours of installation later, the Humboldt Canada 150 Mural is in its final place at last.

After being on display in the Gallery for almost three weeks, the mural was moved to the side of the SaskTel building on Main Street Tuesday morning.

Christine Stumborg explains the struggle it was to safely put the mural up.

"We had to be very careful, the way we installed the mural. Not to damage anyone's tile and not to damage the brick itself. It went up really good, it was a really easy install, easier than we thought it would be. It looks amazing."

The mural was painted by residents of Humboldt, is one of several murals going up across Canada.

Stumborg explains what it means for the City of Humboldt.

"It shows and displays everything that's about Humboldt. We had so many people come out to this event to help us out and paint a tile, and what really Humboldt meant to them. Stepping back and looking at the mural itself, you get one picture. Stepping up close, and looking at individual tiles to see what really Humboldt meant to everyone is just two different experiences."

Stumborg says this all isn't possible without the community support.

"We were so overwhelmed with the amount of the public that flowed in to want to get on board with this mural. We had 750 tiles to paint, and we actually ran out near the end."

A celebration and dedication will be held on July 13th in front of the City Hall to thank the sponsors and donors who made this event possible.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
