The Humboldt Public School Childcare Centre is hosting an open house and bar-b-cue Thursday.

"We're selling burgers and hot dogs, juice and pop," Director Becky Ell explained. "We're also having a small raffle table, tickets are 1/$2 or 3/$5."

The fundraising lunch runs from 11:30-1:30 at 730 8th Avenue on the east side of the HPS.

Ell explains where the funds from the bar-b-cue and raffles will go.

"The funds will all be going towards our outdoor play area, we've only been open for about a year and three months and so we are still developing it so that's where all the funds will be going."

Ell says they will also open the doors to the public to see what the centre offers.

"The families that are already here can come and sit and eat with their children. Anybody who wants to come check out the centre is welcome to come. We will give you a tour and you can see what the centre has."
