The temperature and humidex will be two popular words in the Humboldt area, as warm, muggy days take over.

On Tuesday, the first glimpse of that was seen, as the temperature reached 28 degrees, with the humidex peaking at 34. Even after 10:00pm, it remained near 30, causing some unique clouds in the area.

Known as 'mammatus clouds', they often can be seen when severe weather hits, and while nothing was overly drastic in the immediate area, Davidson, 150 kilometres south of Humboldt, had a tornado touch down.

Wednesday's forecasted high is 32 degrees, with the humidex pushing 36. Temperatures will remain in and near the 30 degree mark until Saturday, when things cool off and could bring light rain.

Tuesday's daytime high was the warmest Humboldt had seen since June 14, when the temperature reached 29 degrees. Only once has the thermometer touched 30. That came on June 9.
