Horizon School Division is looking to a Battleford school for an example of how to incorporate day-to-day faith instruction as it prepares to absorb Englefeld School.

Engelfeld School belongs to Englefeld Protestant Separate School Division, which is to amalgamate with Horizon this year.

There's already opportunity in the Education Act for religious instruction in the curriculum, Horizon director of education Kevin Garinger said.

Informal religious teaching - for example, asking a student what Jesus would do in a given situation - is different.

School community councils can provide some support on that component of education, and Horizon is also looking at the agreement between St. Vital Catholic School in Battleford and the public Living Sky School Division, Garinger said.

"We have that documentation, we're going to be looking into that to see if there are components of that that make sense for Engelfeld."
