Street Hockey fans and players alike gathered on Main Street Watson to honour Justin Knackstedt.

The 3rd Annual Justin Knackstedt Memorial Street Hockey Tournament was played yesterday, along with a supper for the participants, performance from JoMama, and fireworks.

Bridget Crozon and Kalin Anderson organized this years tournament.

Crozon talks about the support from the participants.

"It's really good to see everyone out, and it means a lot to us that after 3 years, everyone still comes out to celebrate Justin's life and we get to keep his memory alive and all his friends and family get to get together."

Crozon adds volunteers made this event possible.

"The Watson Optimist Club has been great at stepping up and helping us at the booth and bar all day, and then we always have a great out-pouring of our friends and family and everyone that loved Justin to come out to help, and so we've had tons of volunteers, and then there's no way we could do it without everyone."

Co-organizer Kalin Anderson explains why a street hockey tournament is played every year.

"We did a street hockey tournament because it covers all ages. We can get Justin's parents out, we can get Justin's little brother, it just covers every athletic ability, you don't have to throw a ball, you can just come out and play."

The tournament is to honour the life of Justin Knackstedt, a conservation officer from Watson who died assisting with an accident on Highway 11 in May of 2013.
