UPDATE: As of 8:30pm, police have re-opened the highway. The accident is still under investigation and no additional details are in at this time.

Melfort RCMP have issued a release stating that Highway 6 is closed about one kilometer south of Pleasantdale due to a two vehicle accident.

No word on what has caused the accident, but it is being described as "Serious."

The Highway Hotline advises Winter driving conditions exist and the highway will remain closed until the investigation is complete.

Melfort RCMP, Naicam Fire Department, and an RCMP traffic re-constructionist are on the scene.
