The Heart and Stroke Foundations big bike made a stop in Kelvington on Wednesday.

The stop was the big bikes first appearance in Saskatchewan this year.

At 11am the Kelvington Health Action Team made the first trek around town with the other team following after that.

The health team was made up of health care providers, community members, EMS staff, and SARBI members.

Denise Geck, Chair of the Health Action Team said they had a challenge going between their team and the Accent Credit Union and East Central Coop.

"The Health Action Team raised $2235 and their team raised $7266 so we feel that it was a successful thing to have in Kelvington."

The team brought the bike into Kelvington as part of their effort to raise awareness for different health related issues in the town.

All of the proceeds went directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The big bike will make its way around Saskatchewan to over 50 communities including Humboldt.
