Humboldt and area experienced a sugar rush from September 10 to 17, all to support health care in the region.

Tim Horton's and the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation once again teamed up for 'Smile Cookie Week', where 100% of the sale of smile cookies went to the foundation.

Local Owner Dan Grywacheski noted that the HDHF is always a worthy organization to back.

"It benefits the entire community. It is an important facility and we continue to support everything that it needs. It makes the most sense for us."

A total of 8,013 cookies were sold, with that same number now being donated to the foundation.

"I think by the end of the week we all had our fill of cookies," said Grywacheski, adding that they surpassed their goal for the week.

Last year, just shy of 7,500 cookies were sold.

Including this year's number, over $27,000 has been raised for the hospital foundation in the last five years.
