The Humboldt District Hospital Foundation held their In Memory Have a Heart Walk or Run on Sunday.

Starting at the Humboldt Golf Course, participants could choose to Walk or Run the course.

The grand total raised was over five thousand dollars, and proceeds go towards new equipment for the hospital.

The run was in memory of those we have lost in the past and was a fundraiser for the HDHF.

Lorrie Bunko, Executive Director with the foundation, explained how the funds will be used.

"We are transitioning four of our inpatient rooms into safer rooms for mental health and addiction patients."

"The next piece of equipment on our list is Pixis, and that costs $270,000."

She also noted that every single dollar is important, as costs of medical care and equipment are continually increasing.

Over 40 runners participated, and the event was very well attended.
