Humboldt and District Community Services is taking to the runway with a new fundraising initiative.

The group is raising funds for their annual Summer programming by hosting a fashion show next Wednesday.

Executive Director Janine Korte says they are going to get their clients involved in the event.

"The fashion show is going to be a little bit different just that we are going to include some of the clients we work with as well. It's kind of a more inclusive fashion show, we're really looking forward to it."

Cottage Boutique has jumped on board to partner with HDCS. They have tickets available at their store as well as the HDCS office.

"The doors open at 6:30," Korte explained. "From there there will be the fashion show along with a few appetizers and drinks and things like that. We will also a door prize as well as 50/50 tickets as well."

Korte talks about where the funds will be going.

"The fashion show itself is really important in that it helps to create a little bit of awareness of our organization in the community as well as it helps to support our basic programming here that we deliver. The one that is specifically coming up in the next few weeks is our Summer program, that has been a program we have delivered for the past 15 years."

The program helps give kids with disabilities the opportunity to take part in a number of Summer activities like going to the lake, horse back riding and going to the pool.

Tickets are just $20, the event will be held in the Winston Room at the Bella Vista Inn.
