The Canadian version of the hit reality TV series Big Brother will have some local flavour on its new season starting Wednesday.

Jesse Larson, who graduated from Humboldt Collegiate Institute in 2011, is one of this season's cast members.

The players, dubbed "houseguests", move inside the Big Brother house and compete in various competitions throughout the season with the winner taking $100,000 among other prizes.

Larson, now a sales executive in Saskatoon, said in a pre-game interview that he wanted to be on Big Brother Canada because it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Seemingly so, as Larson is only the second Saskatchewan houseguest to ever be cast in the now six season history of the show.

He says that his background as an account executive will help him out through the social aspect of the game, forming alliances, and helping himself stay in the game.

The new season premieres Wednesday night on Global, and will run Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until May.

Larson's parents, Clint and Jenny, and younger brother Dylan live in Humboldt, while his sister Lindsey is in BC.
