Farmers in the Humboldt area are getting into haying operations, according to the latest crop report from Saskatchewan Agriculture.

Three percent of the crop has been cut, with quality rated as 10% excellent, 58% good and 32% fair.

Some areas remain unseeded due to excess moisture conditions while other areas have unharvested crops from last year.

Unfavourable growing conditions have slowed crop development, with 60% of oilseeds, 54% of pulses and spring cereals and 42% of fall cereals reported to be behind normal stages of development for this time of year.

Across the province, crops range from 13 to 33% behind normal development.

Topsoil moisture comes in at 25% surplus, 70% adequate, 4% short and 1% very short.
